It’s January, the month for resolutions to be made and often broken. I’m starting this year in the middle of my commitment to use YourShape Fitness Evolved by Ubisoft to document my fitness progress and don’t think I’ll have any problem of maintaining motivation in this final month. I’ve combatted holiday eating and feel like I’m in the final stretch but if you’re embarking on new fitness resolutions, the YourShape site has tons of fabulous resources.
Learn About the Game– If you got a Kinect over the holidays and are contemplating YourShape as a game, the Learn About the Game tab features videos where you can see the Tone Body and Cardio Boxing Platinum workouts and clips of the various other workouts and games.
Blog– I love reading the YourShape Blogs for great tips for making lifestyle choices that will ultimately lead to a healthier me. I never find the posts to be preachy or make me feel like I shouldn’t have indulged in that yummy looking pastry that tempted me at the bakery. With categories like Good Life, Weight Loss, Nutrition, Get Fit, Health, and Stress Reduction, the blogs section provides realistic tips for healthier living that I can easily integrate into my life. I also enjoy checking in to the Weight Loss column to see how the Evolving Together participants are doing with their fitness progress using YourShape. Seeing how the others are doing motivates me to continue my workouts!
Tools– The Tools section of the site has handy links to a BMI calculator, calorie counter, nutrition and weight charts, along with a Lose a Pound Calculator. It sounds intimidating but once you know how many calories you have to cut from your daily intake in order to lose a certain number of pounds, you might start thinking twice about calories consumed! Hmmm…Maybe I should stop indulging in those pastries I mentioned before!
Community– Use the Community tab to Connect to YourShape on Facebook and Twitter and also ask questions about the game or engage in discussions about the game through Forums. Reading the Forums gave me some insight about new things to try in order to improve my game play. I learned that I might need to reposition my sensor when I’m having difficulty kicking the lower blocks in the Virtual Smash game. I’m also going to try wearing more fitted pants when doing the Zen Class because some suggested that the sensor can’t always tell if your positioning is correct if your clothes are loose.
With the many great tools available on the YourShape Fitness Evolved site, I know I can maintain my motivation as I work towards my goals over the next 3 weeks!
Weekly summary:
- Pounds lost/gained this week: 1 (!)
- Total pounds lost over 9 weeks: 4

I like the idea of the workout program. I just thought I would share with you another way to work out! I work at DISH Network and you can watch Live-streaming content EVERYWHERE you go! Not just at home like Comcast is proposing later this year. As a DISH Subscriber and employee I would suggest you take a look at our website to share with other Moms like us! It’s completely awesome! http://www.dish.com/TVeverywhere
