The new Xbox LIVE update that became available yesterday integrates gaming and entertainment. Partnerships with companies like Hulu, Netflix, and Bravo for content and features like a cloud profile and social media integration (Facebook and Twitter) are exciting changes but it’s also also a great time to check your parental controls and make updates since the new Family Settings extend to Xbox LIVE.
One thing that parents need to know is that the The Terms of Use have been updated to reflect the changing needs of the service. For example, minors (under age 18) can’t agree to enforceable contracts which is why parents will need to sign into your Windows Live ID and accepted the updated Terms of Use for any child or teen accounts you’ve created.

By the way, have you entered my Xbox 360 with Kinect giveaway yet? I’m selecting a winner this Friday!
I received information regarding the new Xbox LIVE update and felt it was necessary to share this given the update. Xbox 360 with Kinect is being provided by Microsoft as a giveaway. No compensation was received for this post or the giveaway. Images courtesy of Microsoft.

The new update made my account go whacko. I’ve had a full adult account since I turned 18 two years ago, and now, every time I go to accept the new terms of use, so I can use the dew double xp for halo 4, it tells me to get parent’s approval, and tells me to use the parent email and pass, even though there are none for my account. What the hell, xbox?
