If the thought of padlocks bring back bad memories of middle and high school lockers like losing a key or endlessly spinning the dial trying to get the combination just right, the new Master Lock dialSpeed is a revolutionary new type of lock that features an easy-to-use electronic interface and is nothing like the old school padlocks of years ago.
The lock actually features a keypad, similar to what you might find on your cell phone. Users set their own customized code with direction (up, down, right, left), letters, or numbers. The combination can be between 4-12 positions and is much easier to operate than the dial type padlocks. It’s designed to be opened with one hand! Being able to set the combination allows for easy recall. If you’re worried you might forget the combination, Master Lock Vault saves your code safely and securely.
Here’s a look at how it works. Note how it can be opened with one hand!
Other features of Master Lock dialSpeed include:
- Ability to set up to 3 additional guest codes for family members to have access without being able to reset the code
- Unique Backup master Code securely stored at Master Lock Vault
- 5 year batter can only be replaced when the lock is in the open position
- 1” Boron carbide verticle shackle fits lovers and provides increased cut resistance
Master Lock dialSpeed is available from the Master Lock website and retails for $24.99 and is a great back to school investment given ease of use, security, and the fun of unlocking your belongings in an innovative tech savvy way.

My son is starting middle school in a few weeks and will probably need a lock. I had no idea anything like this existed! This is the one I’ll be getting him.
Gone are the days of turn to the right, then full circle to the left, then back to the right, lol
