Fans of Peppa Pig who love her in the animated series will be pleased to know that Peppa has gone mobile with the launch of the new Happy Mrs. Chicken app ($2.99). Happy Mrs. Chicken is perfect for toddlers since it supports the development of coordination skills, creative thinking, and hand-eye through touch screen interaction. The intuitive game play and audio instructions to allow children to enjoy the app independently while playing with beloved characters George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Suzy Sheep, and Rebecca Rabbit
The app contains five engaging and interactive games – plus a bonus virtual sticker book where kids get to keep stickers earned after game play. Here is a brief description of each of the aspects of Happy Mrs. Chicken.
Muddy Puddles enables kids to play as either Peppa or George against one of their friends as they attempt to be the first to jump in as many muddy puddles as possible. This is a great game to assist children with hand eye coordination as they tap on various mud puddles on the screen to move Peppa and George. Whether choosing to be Peppa or George, kids will have the option of selecting a timed version of the game.
Seed and Maze is a maze-style game that involves the player tapping the screen to drop a seed trail to guide the chicks home. Adults will feel nostalgic with the Pac Man-esque feel of this game. Kids will enjoy rewarding the chick by shaking the seed box to feed them at the end of each maze and the increasing difficulty of the 6 mazes.
Happy Mrs. Chicken is based on the Nintendo DS mini-game and is inspired by a game that Peppa plays in the TV series where the player makes Happy Mrs. Chicken lay eggs. Kids will quickly learn that they can tap the screen like crazy to have the chick lay eggs to fill the screen. The eggs then hatch into chicks and scurry to either side of the screen while a number at the top of the screen keeps track of the number of eggs laid.
Jigsaw Puzzles feature four brand new jigsaws that cane be attempted in different sizes. The six, nine and twelve piece puzzles range in difficulty allowing even the youngest Peppa fans to feel successful.
Chicken Coop is a sorting game that involves sending just hatched yellow and brown chicks to their correctly colored chicken coops. Kids tap on the chick and drag it to the corresponding coop to help them with visual discrimination and beginning math skills.
Sticker Book is the place where the virtual stickers for completing games are kept. Kids can decorate their sticker book with different items and characters.
Happy Mrs. Chicken is compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, NokiaE7, N8, C7 and C6-01 Android operating system 2.1 and above.
The content is best for toddlers and beginning preschoolers.
I received a download code and was compensated for my time in reviewing the Happy Mrs. Chicken app but all opinions are my own.
My daughter loves this app, but really wants to play more Peppa Pig games! I’ve set up a Facebook page to petition for them ALL to be brought to the US!
