For those mourning the loss of Google Reader come July 1 and in search of suitable replacements, eWeek’s Google Reader: With the End Near, Here Are Some Alternatives provides a great comprehensive list of free and paid services for smartphones and desktop. Thanks to a comment left at the bottom of the article, I’m trying out SwarmIQ which allowed me to import my feeds directly from Google Reader before everything disappears come July. The left navigation of Swarm IQ looks pretty similar to what you got used to through Google Reader but it’s even easier to edit your feeds by adding blogs to folders or deleting them. Plus bloggers will appreciate that in the Most Recent, the title appears and clicking leads to the site to help with page views.

It’s a pain that Google Reader is going away but I’m glad there are other alternatives. I subscribe to a lot of blogs by email but have switched to Bloglovin’ for the others.
