Even though we’re still soaking up summer rays and enjoying the last of our carefree days, the start of the school year is on the horizon and it’s time to get organized. For many years I’ve relied on my momAgenda products to keep me organized.
As a momAgenda Council of Media Moms member, I received samples to facilitate this review and was compensated for my time but have personally purchased momAgenda products for years.
Despite my tech savvy, my momAgenda Spiral Refill calendar has always been a must-have. I love writing with a sharp pencil on a paper calendar to keep track of work and family life. Last year I blogged about how I was starting to use my calendar a hybrid family and blog editorial calendar.
I found that using the top half to keep track of work calls, appointments, and dates and times I’m volunteering in the kids’ classrooms worked well. Having the bottom portion to note kids’ schedules along with my editorial calendars for Parents.com, Babble Tech, and my own site keeps me organized by allowing me to see my work commitments and plan my week accordingly. For photos of how I’ve meshed my work and family schedule into my momAgenda Spiral Refill, visit this post.
Since I’m a fan of playdates, even last minute ones that are planned via text at 7 am as the day is starting, I find that the Permission Slip pads ($7.95) make my life just a bit easier. This handy half-sheet pad lives in a drawer in our home command center by our kitchen table where I can quickly grab it, jot a couple notes about who my child is going home with for a playdate before running out the door. Teachers love getting notes about a child’s change of pickup on paper from these pads because they’re easy to read, well organized, and don’t look like a scrap of paper your child dropped on the way into the classroom.
This year I’m also trying the Chores Pad ($16.95). While our kids are great about helping out around the house and taking turns feeding the dog, writing them down on the Chores Pad will help them take ownership of the jobs they have to do around the house and provides satisfaction upon completion thanks to the check boxes. At ages 9 ½ and 7, they’re old enough to be held accountable for the different ways we expect them to help. Since they’re so enthusiastic about systems like this, I expect embrace this new system we’re incorporating into our home this school year!

Wow – some excellent products! My oldest is going to Pre-K this year so I really need to stay on top of his schedule as long as my schedule with two little ones still at home. I absolutely LOVE the Personal Portfolio Crocodile!

I like the School Years folder. That would be a great way to hold onto memories for each of my three kids.
