I was compensated for my time writing this post and serving as the featured guest for the upcoming #SliceSpringCleaning Twitter party but all opinions are my own.
As an avid online shopper, I’m all for apps that can make my life easier and Slice is a free fabulous comprehensive tool that helps me manage my purchases. It helps me manage things I’ve bought online, notifies me if items I’ve bought have been recalled, alerts me when packages have shipped, and if I might be eligible for refunds on recently purchased items due to price drops. It also provides purchase information for budgeting purposes and makes returns easy. Pretty amazing, right? And yes, all for free!
How Slice Works
Slice is available for iOS and Android devices and also on the web. Download the free app or signup for an online account and then sync it to your email. This allows Slice to pull information from your electronic receipts and organize them in one place so all information is consolidated, automatically updated, and easily accessible at any time.
Features
Slice contains many features that are helpful to consumers looking to save time and money while keeping their family safe. Here’s an overview of what Slice can do for you!
Recall alerts— Slice matches your purchases with recall information from CPSC.gov and sends you an alert if a product you’ve purchased is recalled. This feature is particularly useful for busy parents because it is an easy way to keep up-to-date with recalls. After all, no one wants their child to continue using items that are unsafe!
Package Tracking— The app automatically tracks shipments in progress and sends push notifications to alert you when your shipments are coming, along with a description of what’s in the package. You can also pull up the tracking number, a countdown till the delivery date, and a map that pinpoints the locations of your packages in real time. The helpful Track with Friends feature enables you to send customized notifications to recipients—with or without the details of what’s inside— so you don’t have to ruin the surprise of what’s coming!
Price Drop Alerts— Everyone loves getting money back and thanks to Slice’s Price Drop Alerts, you’ll get a notification when an item you’ve purchased has recently dropped in price and you’re eligible to recoup the difference. Once you receive a price drop alert, the app guides you through the steps you need to take in order to request a partial refund and get your money back!
Detailed Purchase Information & Budgeting— Savvy shoppers know the importance of budgeting and knowing how they spend their money. Slice can help by providing a profile of your spending, broken down by type of purchase, so you can see precisely how much you’ve spent in various categories, organized by merchant, category or date. You can also access the details of everything you’ve bought—down to the sizing of a specific pair of jeans, the details of a Square purchase or the perfume you bought your mom for her birthday last year!
Returns Made Easy— Nothing is worse than having a return and losing the receipt that goes with it but thanks to Slice, you don’t have to worry! Slice consolidates electronic receipts to make returns easier, then takes it one step further by giving you other crucial information at a glance, including the retailer’s return policy details, customer service number and the order number that corresponds with your purchase.
