Who said men are hard to shop for? This year put down the tie and think about what he really wants. Better speakers for a home theater experience, a DVR to ensure a favorite show is always there waiting when he wants, cool cases for his favorite digital devices, products for an easier commute, and tools for his next project make for great gifts. Here are some of my husband’s favorite things to give and receive.
Moxie Showerhead by Kohler ($109.98 from Amazon)— Mornings just got a bit better thanks to the ability to stream music from your phone to your shower. Yes, really. The Moxie Showerhead features an integrated Bluetooth speaker capsule that’s removable, rechargeable, and wireless that provides a shower experience that you’d expect from Kohler as a leader in bathroom fixtures. With 60 angled nozzles and water saving features plus up to 7 hours of battery life (easily recharged with the included USB cable), you can stream your favorite music or get a jump start on the day’s news with a high quality speaker that sounds great. Magnets keep the Bluetooth speaker in place in the shower but let you easily pop it out so you can take it with you to continue listening. If you share your shower with other family members, they can get their own speaker. Kohler makes the Bluetooth speaker in 4 different colors so each family member can have one tied to their personal playlist that can be enjoyed while they shower. So go ahead, sing along and don’t worry about embarrassing the kids while doing so in the confines of your shower because they’re going to want to sing along too! And if you’re worried about not being handy and swapping your current showerhead for Moxie, I can assure you that all you need is a wrench and some good old elbow grease to get the job done. Available in a rainhead or traditional single function showerhead designs.
Tivo Roamio Plus DVR ($399.99 plus service)— For dads who worry about missing part of a game featuring his favorite team or episode of that must-watch show, the TiVo Roamio Plus will be a most-welcome gift. With the ability to record up to 6 shows at once, store up to 150 hours of HD content, watch live and recorded TV anywhere, and the easy integration with our existing digital cable provider, Roamio is a great solution for every family. There’s plenty of hard drive space for dad’s games, the kids’ shows, and mom’s favorite series too. Plus you can record 6 things at once so you never have to prioritize whose content is most important! With plenty of space for all of our favorite content means there’s always something to watch, when we’re ready to watch it, making for great in-house binge watching date nights!
Tools from Rockwell— Nothing says manly gift item more than power tools! Project loving dads will love new versions of well-loved tools for any upcoming project over the holidays or in the new year. With cordless tools, oscillating tools, universal fit blades, workstations, saws, sanders, and tons of accessories, there is always something that dad needs from Rockwell. Because all dads need more workspace, one of my picks is the Jawhorse portable workstation ($199), a portable solution that replaces workbenches, sawhorses, and clamps that features over a ton of clamping force and steel construction to handle his toughest projects. I love its versatility and the fact that it isn’t already my husband has! Another pick is BladeRunner ($119) a versatile saw that cuts wood, metal, plastic, and ceramic tile that features a vacuum port and dust collection system that everyone can appreciate for more time working and less time cleaning. Despite its powerful motor, it only weighs 13.2 pounds and can be easily transported thanks to the built in carrying handle. For dads of Cub Scouts, BladeRunner is the perfect tool for Pinewood Derby cars! If you’re worried that you might not be selecting the right tool, Rockwell offers a 30 Day Guarantee for dad to try it for himself and a 3 year limited warranty to ensure that his gift is one he enjoys using for years to come. As you’re browsing for tools, be sure to enter Rockwell’s Give One, Get One sweepstakes that honors those in your life that rock with a chance to win two sets of the ultimate Rockwell tool collection for you and someone you love. Full details and the entry form can be found here.
Lifeproof frē Samsung Galaxy S5 case ($79.99)— If dad recently upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S5, give him the ultimate protection for his new favorite device with a Lifeproof frē case. I’m a longtime fan of Lifeproof’s cases but the frē is well designed to not hamper the great features like the Finger Scanner, Heart Rate Sensor, or access to the buttons or controls, that make the S5 a great device. Since guys tend to carry their phones in their pockets, the slim profile mirrors the Galaxy’s lines and doesn’t add too much bulk but does protect against drops from up to 2 meters. It also helps increase the device’s waterproof rating and has a built-in scratch protector for touchscreen defense.
Tablet Covers featuring retro Mead designs by Kensington ($24.99 and up)— Give new devices and old school feel with cases by Kensington that feature Trapper Keeper, Pee Chee, and Composition book designs. They’ll make going to the office so much better and will be appreciated by colleagues who aren’t millennials.
Logitech Harmony Smart Control Remote ($129.99)— In an age where there are already too many controls for home theater equipment already, streamline and put the others away when gifting dad with the Logitech Harmony Smart Control Remote. This turns your smartphone into a Harmony Remote that can control all of your home theater and stereo devices. If you aren’t familiar with the Harmony brand, they’re a gold standard for Universal Remotes that help to eliminate the need for multiple remotes for your various home theater equipment. We’ve been using the Logitech Harmony Smart Control Remote for the past year and can honestly we say we love the additional ability to control our home theater through our smartphone to eliminate yet another remote. Inspiration Lite Headphones by Monster ($229.95)— Already on my Gift Guide for Frequent Fliers and Teen Gift Guide, Monster’s Inspiration Lite Headphones makes my dad list too because they’re my favorite headphones of the year. I made the mistake of letting my husband try mine and was worried I wouldn’t get them back! What did he love about them? The compact size for traveling (they come with a soft case with an inner compartment that protects them but doesn’t take up tons of room), comfort, styling, noise isolating abilities, plus the microphone for conference calls in almost silence. Even though my husband has his own pair of noise canceling headphones, I’m thinking of replacing his with his own set of Inspiration Lites just so he doesn’t snatch mine!
Netflix Streaming ($8.99/month)— With thousands of movies and television episodes available to watch instantly right on your TV via any other device that streams from Netflix (this includes PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, or your computer), there is always a wealth of content available thanks to Netflix Streaming. If you already have Netflix for movies, upgrade dad to the streaming plan! For just under $110, ayear of Netflix Streaming also makes a gift for grandfathers, uncles, or brothers who will appreciate efficient viewing thanks to a lack of commercials and the ability to pause, rewind, fast forward or re-watch as often as they want while they appreciate your gift throughout the year.

My husband could really use the Logitech Harmony Smart Control Remote and the Rockwell tools are also a great pick.
We have so many remotes around here I think I would need 2 of those Logitech Harmony remotes to manage everything.
I like the headphones- OK maybe tat would be a gift for him but for me my husband blares music 🙂
