2015 Gift Guide: Gifts for Moms

What do busy moms really want every holiday season? Besides a clone, the gift of time, or a day at the spa, we want the things we covet but don’t buy ourselves or the things that have the potential to streamline an aspect of our lives to provide a bit of zen. Even though I’m no Oprah, here are my favorite things that I think any mom would love to get this year.

Bamboo Spark by Wacom ($159.95)— As much as I love technology, I also love paper and luckily there’s a place for both in my tech savvy life thanks to the Wacom Bamboo Spark. Wacom has been a leader in digital pen technology for over 30 years and their fabulous new folio comes with a pad of paper for endless doodling and note taking and a smart ballpoint pen that recognizes what you’re writing and automatically saves everything written to the cloud with the touch of a button. I love that the pen works with any paper so I can keep writing without ever worrying about running out of paper, it’s perfectly sized to fit in my purse and adds minimal weight, and I can always make sure that my handwritten notes are accessible thanks to easy syncing with Wacom Cloud, Evernote, or Dropbox. Yes, you can write down your grocery list and with a press of a button send it to Evernote so you never have to worry about losing your list or leaving it at work. Or you can take notes on the paper at your child’s parent-teacher conference and tap to digitize them instead of seeming rude by tapping away at your phone. The Wacom Bamboo Spark is magical and a must-have for working moms everywhere. I have the Wacom Bamboo Spark with Gadget Pocket but there is also a Spark with a Tablet Sleeve and another with Snap-Fit for the iPad Air 2. There is also an incredible array of smart Wacom pens to fit your needs.

Tieks (starting at $175)— With their teal blue bottoms, rainbow of colors and prints to match every outfit, and high price tag, many pause at the cost of these ballet flats but after owning a pair for a year and having just purchased my second, Tieks are a must have for any woman. Yes, they’re a splurge but one that your feet will thank you for every time you slip them on. These flats are made of premium Italian leather that molds to your feet so you can wear them comfortably all day every day or tuck them in your bag to serve as a spare pair of shoes when you can’t stand your heels a second longer. They come with a gorgeous faux flower adorned with a bit of glitter around the teal box. Snug inside the box is your pair of Tieks that are folded in half, tucked neatly inside their stretch bag. Take them out, try them on, wear them and as they stretch to fit your feet you’ll also come to believe they were worth every penny.

NTune Headphones by Monster ($129.95, starting at $70 on Amazon)— In bright candy colors or pearlized pastels, N-Tune headphones look great and deliver incredible sound in a fashion-forward way hanks to a design that is lightweight, virtually indestructible and ultra-comfortable.

($849.99)— Moms who are always willing to share deserve their own devices and the Satellite Fusion offers a sleek twist on the conventional laptop. With five unique viewing modes, Windows 10 operating system, 15-inch multi-touch display, and an audio package with Onkyo stereo speakers tuned by Skullcandy, the Satellite Fusion 15” makes a phenomenal gift that she will continue to use throughout the year especially since it’s perfect for looking at photos, creating digital artwork, watching movies, and providing homework assistance from time to time.

Helen Ficalora jewelry (from $65)— The beauty of Helen Ficalora’s signature desings  is that it’s easy to find something for every woman on your shopping list. Sterling silver charms start at $65 and make great gifts for a favorite babysitter or teacher while delicate gold charms reflecting initials of favorite people and things (sometimes adorned with the sweetest diamonds) can be combined on a single chain to become a piece of jewelry she wears every day. A screen wipe is included and tucks right into the lid so you always have everything you need at your fingertips for a clean phone. Not a fan of lavender? Samsung NX500 ($799.99)— Smartphone photos are fine but for long lasting images of your children that will last a lifetime, upgrade her with gift of a Samsung NX500 camera. Black + Decker Café Select Dual Brew Coffeemaker with Travel Mug ($129.99)— For moms who drink coffee, the Café Select Dual Brew Coffeemaker with Travel Mug is like having two coffeemakers in one and is designed to fir a mom’s busy life. Brew a single serving for the road into the included 20 ounce travel mug or a full 12-cup carafe to savor and share throughout the day. Dyson Hot + Cool Jet Focus AM09 ($449.99) — Hot or cold? Dyson’s Hot + Cool Jet Focus ensures that she’ll always be exactly the right temperature thanks to fast, even heating and powerful personal cooling. Gorgeous styling makes this a coveted gift for even the most well designed home offices.

Citizen Circle of Time with Eco-Drive ($350)— Not sure exactly what wearable to get mom this holiday season? Massage Envy gift certificate (starting at $75)— While usually seen as a luxury, the gift of a massage or facial is a way to show mom that she’s important and deserves to take care of herself. Often times moms overlook their own self care because they’re so busy taking care of others but with Massage Envy locations nationwide, it’s easy to find a location and book a service. Even though I get massages regularly, I hadn’t ever tried Massage Envy until recently and enjoyed the experience from start to finish. If you don’t know what to get mom, a Massage Envy gift cards can be purchased at any location or eGift Cards can be purchased online. They come in denominations of $75, $100, and $150 which includes treatment and gratuity which is lovely because it allows her to schedule the appointment without worrying about anything other than showing up and being pampered. And really, that’s what every mom wants!
