In the age of technology where we covet the newest and shiniest objects, sometimes it’s nice to take a step back and remember what life was like before smartphones, wifi, and social media. We may not be able to board our DeLoreans a la Marty McFly in a Back to the Future kind of way but often times favorite television shows from an era can make us nostalgic for a different time.
That’s how I felt when I heard that Full House was being revived as Fuller House, a Netflix original series that brings favorite characters D.J., Stephanie, and Kimmy are back and all grown up. The little girls that we watched in 1987 are back on the original set in a new series where recently widowed D.J lives with her younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner and and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler. Together these three women take care of D.J.’s three boys, ages 12, 7, and a newborn.
It’s a change from the original where three men took care of three girls but from this clip, we can expect more of what we loved back in the 80s and 90s, plus guest appearances by John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis) and Scott Weinger (Steve Hale).
While you wait for Fuller House to come out on February 26, these 10 favorites from the 80s and 90s are sure to provide plenty of nostalgia:
- The Wonder Years
- Friends
- America’s Funniest Home Videos
- Knight Rider
- Cheers
- Fraiser
- Murder She Wrote
- Saved by the Bell
- Dawson’s Creek
- Buffy the Vampire Slayer
