If you were going to move, what would you look for in your new home and the surrounding area? Years ago, as our lease was expiring on our rental and my husband and I were looking to purchase our first home, I remember making a wish list of features for our future house.
We wanted a suburban oasis in a walkable community where we could get to know our neighbors but provided easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and cultural offerings in and around Washington, DC. We were looking for a place with flexible spaces that would be fine for the two of us but could accommodate our future family. Being a teacher, I knew the importance of buying a home in an area with strong neighborhood schools while my husband, who frequently traveled for work, needed easy access to major roads leading to area airports.
This year will mark our 19th year of owning our home and the excitement I felt when realizing it was a good fit for us was the same feeling I got when touring Chapman Row. Chapman Row is a brand-new community located just steps from the Twinbrook Metro in the City of Rockville, Maryland that offers brand new, move-in ready spaces, perfect for creating a lifetime of memories inside and outside. I love that Chapman Row provides homeowners with a community feel, convenient access to the area’s shopping and more, and the new construction provides ease thanks to units outfitted with the latest HomeSmart® automation technology.
There are many reasons to consider Chapman Row if you’re looking to purchase your first home, downsize, or relocate to the area. Here are 6 reasons why you’ll love it when you visit.
6 Features to Look for When Buying a New Home and Why You’ll Love Chapman Row
Flexible Spaces in an Urban Setting
Forget what you thought about townhome living. These modern home styles aren’t like the townhomes of the past. Each of the two new designs feature three full levels. Open floor plans are flexible to your lifestyle and a rooftop terrace is a perfect place to relax at the end of the day or entertain guests.
Community Feel
61 homes are centered around a bosque, a landscaped green space with a covered gazebo and seating. This provides a way to connect with neighbors and relax outdoors to promote a close-knit community vibe.
Strong Neighborhood Schools
Walter Johnson (WJ) High School is well known throughout Montgomery County and neighborhoods with schools that feed into WJ are highly sought after by young families. Farmland Elementary and Tilden Middle School feed into WJ and more information about these schools can be found through the Montgomery County Public Schools website. Visit the School Assignment Tool and view information about each school.
Walkable and Metro Accessible Neighborhood
Leave the car in the garage and escape gridlock thanks to conveniently located shopping, dining, and public transportation. The Twinbrook stop on Metro’s Red Line is just two blocks north while Pike & Rose to the south provides restaurants, boutiques, theaters, a weekly farmer’s market, and a wide variety of family friendly activities for all ages.
Conveniently Located to Major Roads and Airports
Located at 1904 Chapman Row in Rockville, Chapman Row is located off the Rockville Pike which serves as a main north-south artery that can easily connect you to major roads like the Beltway (495), I-95, and 270.
2 Designs to Choose From
Chapman Row features two brand new different designs of urban townhomes- Granger and Ellison. Inside the modern exteriors, homeowners can find 3 bedroom, 2.5-3.5 bathroom units that feature over 2000 square feet of living space and a garage.
If I was looking to move, Chapman Row would definitely be worthy of my attention for the reasons above and also these great features:

Looks like a nice place to retire to. We have way too much ‘outdoor’ stuff for this to work right now. It does sound like a nice place though for small families. I think perhaps we are used to more rural areas.
