14 Last Minute Valentine Gifts for Everyone in Your Family

February 8, 2019 By Leticia

Retailers have been gearing up for Valentine’s Day even before the last of the holiday decorations disappeared from stores but that doesn’t mean that we were ready to think about getting gifts for our loved ones. With less than a week until Valentine’s Day now is about the time that we’re thankful for Amazon Prime and shipping options that ensure that gifts for our loved ones arrive in time.

Since we’re all feeling the crunch, this year’s Valentine Gift Guide is short and sweet and includes gifts that will encourage learning in fun ways, rose quartz colored gaming accessories to help her brighten up her gaming, products your digital art lovers will appreciate, and of course, a couple things to set their tech savvy heart aflutter.

14 Last Minute Valentine Gifts for Everyone in Your Family

Valentine Gifts to Keep Your Loves Learning

Tub Sub ($9.99)

There’s nothing more fun than toys that sink and float during bath time and why not teach this scientific concept with this darling Tub Sub. When it’s a boat it floats….as a sub it sinks with its periscope showing! Young marine specialists learn the concept very quickly when they push or pull the blue part up and down and see how the Tub Sub works. I love that this affordable toy also encourages thinking and reasoning. Ages 12 months+

GeoStacker ($19.99)

Sorting is a mathematical concept that can be taught to the youngest ages. Easy to sort by circles or squares, Edushape’s Geo Stacker features eight classic geometric shapes that are fun for your baby to hold and squeeze, and even more fun to stack on top of each other thanks to topple-proof tubes. Made of soft rubber, the colors and textures are inviting and introduce babies to geometric shapes – and stacking. Ages 12 months+

Build or Boom ($29.99)

Love to build? Build or Boom appeals to young engineers thanks to a game where builders are required to use blueprint cards to bring their structure to life. This fun partner game requires siblings, friends, or a parent-child pair to be the fasted to use blocks, triangles, arches, I-beams, and more to carefully build their structure on the platform in order to win the chance to knock their opponent’s structure down. Build or Boom reinforces shape recognition, critical thinking skills, while incorporating some friendly competition into game play. For ages 4+  ** Enter my game giveaway below for a chance to win your choice of Build or Boom, Mastermind, or Hydro Strike!**

Mastermind ($16.99)

Mastermind was a game that I loved as a child. I had no idea at the time that this simple strategy game was teaching strategy skills like logic and deduction. If you’ve never played before, this 2-player game involves a Codemaker who sets a secret code using 4 colored pegs and a Codebreaker whose role is to try to match the code using logic, deduction, and a bit of luck. After each turn, the Codemaker provides clues to the Codebreaker. With 4 colored pegs that can be put in any order, the possibilities are endless, especially if multiple pegs of the same color are used or if one hole is left empty! This classic STEM game doesn’t take up much space and is different every time! For ages 8+ ** Enter my game giveaway below for a chance to win your choice of Build or Boom, Mastermind, or Hydro Strike!**

Hydro Strike ($26.99)

Pinball wizards now how a new element to deal with- WATER! Hydro Strike requires fine motor skills as fingers flip to shoot the ball into their opponent’s goal. Each time you score, your opponent gets sprayed in the face with water. The first player to score up to 5 times wins in this game that is a twist on air hockey and pinball with water. For ages 7+ ** Enter my game giveaway below for a chance to win your choice of Build or Boom, Mastermind, or Hydro Strike!**

Valentine Gifts for Your Loves who Love Gaming

Valentine Gifts to Set Their Tech Savvy Hearts Aflutter

Logitech MX VERTICAL ($99.99)

For this year’s Valentine’s Day, show you care by choosing a gift that increases your lover’s health where they least expect it, but need it most: working at a computer. The Logitech MX VERTICAL Advanced Ergonomic Mouse is Logitech’s first true ergonomic mouse that combines science-driven design with the performance of its MX series. MX VERTICAL is designed to reduce wrist and forearm strain and pressure related to repetitive strain injuries (RSI), while its special 57-degree vertical angle is optimized for an ergonomic wrist and forearm posture without compromising on productivity.

Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite ($299)

With family-friendly features such as Kid’s Corner, advanced Eye-comfort Mode and built-in fingerprint sensor to enable parental controls, Huawei’s brand new MediaPad M5 Lite is perfect for budding digital artists. It features a premium design, display, audio and performance qualities that you’d find in higher priced flagship tablets at a fraction of the cost along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM with expandable memory capacity of up to 256GB. Parents concerned about the effects of screens on young eyes will also appreciate that it has a Distance sensor, Posture Detect sensor, Ambient Light sensor and Blue Ray Filter. This means that when the tablet is less than 9.8 inches away from a face, it automatically detects and provides audio and visual cues to keep a child’s eyesight at an optimal distance from the display. The Posture Detect sensor automatically identifies when the tablet is viewed at a lying angle and provides posture guidance to change viewing habits.

Logitech Crayon ($69.99)

For the artist, sketcher or “professional doodler” in your life, the Logitech Crayon may be the key to their heart. Crayon is Logitech’s first digital pencil designed specifically for the new 9.7-inch iPad. The Crayon features Apple Pencil technology to deliver an ultra-responsive, precise and comfortable handwriting experience that makes it easy to markup and highlight work, take notes, or simply draw using your favorite iPad apps from the App Store.

Jaybird Tarah ($99.99)

Combining a streamlined, minimalist design with six hours of premium wireless sound per charge, Jaybird Tarah provides essential performance for everyday training and fitness. Perfect for the significant other in your life who is ready to cut the cord, Tarah is fully waterproof (IPX7) and sweatproof and features comfortable silicone ear gels and a Speed Cinch cord adjustment system to easily dial in the perfect fit. It’s convenient, one-touch access to your phone’s Siri or Google Assistant allows you to manage calls while running or riding. Tarah is also fully compatible with the Jaybird App, which allows you to create customized EQ settings and save them to the buds.

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hos After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv

As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the me As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the mental health challenges our youth face and am really pleased to share that over the weekend I became certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing! 🎉 I’ve always worked to build relationships with the young people in my life- whether my kids’ friends or students- and this certification has made me more mindful of the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges so I can have important and supportive conversations when symptoms first start to appear. 🗣️A big component of the training also included developing a self-care plan which is critical when supporting others. 💕 I’m so grateful to have taken this certification for free through the University of Maryland whose blended learning format (2 hours of self paced online work + 5 hour instructor led class over Zoom) was fantastic! 💻 The teacher in me really applauds the course design and I’m glad to join the 3 million+ in the U.S. certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. 🏥 If this is something you’re interested in doing, University of Maryland has free courses on Saturdays or Sundays from 10-4pm between June-October.
