Did you opt outside on Black Friday? Whether your outdoor time included the fresh air going from store to store scoring deals or you torched Thanksgiving calories with a run, hike, or other outdoor adventure, there’s something for everyone who loves being outside for any amount of time. Whether you’re a runner, love being out on the water, exploring new places on foot, or just like soaking up the sun, my Gifts for Outdoor Lovers is full of items to include on your wish list.
Best Gifts for Outdoor Lovers
This year’s Gifts for Outdoor Lovers is inspired by my own family’s love of the great outdoors. It features gifts for beach lovers, campers and backpackers, and exercise enthusiasts. It also includes my running essentials (I ran my 6th half marathon and 9th race benefiting St. Jude Children’s Hospital this weekend!), family favorites, and ones on my wish list to try next year. I hope some of these gifts will inspire someone you love to get outside to enjoy nature a bit more and unplug in favor of digital wellbeing.

Goodr Sunglasses ($25-35)
While on a tropical work trip with my husband years ago, I was gifted a pair of Iced by Yeti Goodrs and our family has never been without Goodrs ever since. Everyone in our family has a favorite pair and style. I have multiple pairs and have worn them during our time in the Caribbean, on every adventure our family had in Alaska, while sailing the Florida Keys with a group of Scouts, around town, and on hikes with the dogs. I’m never without them and have multiple pairs to choose from. I love my Iced by Yetis for their reflective mirrored lenses, comfortable fit, the fact that they never ever slip (yes, even when coated in sunscreen for a week on a boat in the Florida Keys), and how the polarized lenses reduce glare and protect my eyes from UVA and UVB rays whether I’m walking the dog, on the beach, or kayaking in Alaska. My love for my Goodrs runs deep- so deep that I’m always stalking the Goodr site to see what pair I might need next!
NoxGear Phone Holder (usually $49.95, currently on sale for $29.95)
Last year I ran a half marathon with my Samsung S22+ in a waist belt. I thought it was secure but the day after the race I had a huge bruise and lots of soreness where the corner bumped against the small of my back for 13.1 miles. Not wanting to risk this injury again, I bought NoxGear’s Phone Holder. Designed to be worn on the left hand, the phone attaches with silicone straps that hold it in place. Two adjustable Velcro straps secure the holder to your left wrist and over the knuckles on your left hand. I loved how accessible my phone to take a photo or pause my Spotify playlist while running. I also like how there’s a hidden compartment to store my ID and credit card and the small stretchy pouch at the end can easily accommodate lip balm or energy gel. I personally purchased this product and have no regrets because it’s my new favorite way to hold my phone during long runs and races.
Peanut Massage Roller ($12.99)
Tight muscles happen. Sometimes knots come from sleeping wrong, overdoing it at the gym, trying something new, or just because of age (though I don’t like to admit to the last one!) I’m a big fan of foam rolling and have been eyeing the Peanut Massage Roller as a gift to myself. I love the compact size, the contours that really can target tight spots, and of course, the price. For anyone who doesn’t have a roam roller or wants to add one to their collection, this could be a great gift or stocking stuffer.
Koala 2.0 Phone Harness ($34 from Hangtime Gear)
The Koala 2.0 is for anyone who has ever worried about dropping their phone from a ski lift, off the side of the mountain while taking a photo of the view, in the water during a kayak adventure, or just because drops happen. I recently purchased Koala 2.0 for my entire family because I’m the one who worries about her phone slipping through her cold fingers while taking photos from the ski lift. The Koala 2.0 slips around the corners of your phone and features a 3 foot cable that you can clip to your backpack or jacket to secure your phone if it happens to slip from your fingers. I love that the cable is long enough to hold away from you to take a group selfie when you reach the top but isn’t too long to add bulk to your pocket or get tangled when clipped to a backpack. Yes, there are cheaper versions on Amazon but I love that Koala 2.0 offers a lifetime warranty. The price of the Koala is worth it because it’s much less and more convenient than losing a phone while on an adventure.
Mabel’s Labels ($38.50 for the Starter Label Pack)
If you were to come over and look around our house, you’d spot Mabel’s Labels on absolutely everything! Laptop cables, portable chargers, headlamps, mess kits, jackets, skis, ski poles, ski helmets, bike locks, and even our canoe and paddleboard (and more!) have Mabel’s Labels stuck to them! Mabel’s Labels ensures our family’s gear gets back to us when lent out and doesn’t get mixed up with others’, especially when our skis and poles get piled up with others on racks outside the lodge. We also always know whose gear is whose, even in our own house!
Black Copper Mighty Jug from Asobu ($49.99)
I recently learned about Asobu and love their stuff! I’m super excited about the Black Copper Mighty Jug to hold hot water for après ski hot chocolate and Cup O Noodles when we get to the car. The Mighty Jug is indeed mighty- it holds a whopping 68 ounces and keeps it hot all day. Our dogs, Goldie and Murphy, are just as excited about the Mighty Jug keeping their water cold so they can enjoy some refreshment after long hikes when the weather gets warm.
PuroPro Headphones (usually $149, currently on sale for $130 from Amazon)
I’m a fan of Puro’s noise limiting headphones for kids through teens for years but now the PuroPro is the latest addition to the collection and made for adults. The slick design and studio grade audio quality provides adults with a listening experience that is both high quality and healthy. In keeping with the Puro Sound Labs mission to protect consumers’ hearing, the headphones are also volume limited to 85 dB for up to 8 hours per day, and 95 dB for up to 50 mins per day, as recommended by the World Health Organization. The headphones are equipped with Puro Balanced Response® Curve technology, engineered to deliver an amazing listening experience with clear, crisp vocals, plus two adjustable ANC levels, ensuring that users can listen to their favorite tracks and podcasts undisturbed, or find their own space in shared environments. The wireless Bluetooth v.5 headphones are complete with a lightweight, foldable design and matching hard cover carrying case and are ideal for travel, with long lasting batteries that provide up to 28 hours playtime with ANC, 32 hours without and 300 hours of standby time.
Nuun Hydration Tablets ($7.49 for a tube of 10)
Outdoor lovers and fitness enthusiasts know that water is only so helpful to staying hydrated. The truth is when you sweat, your body loses important electrolytes so even if you’re drinking water, you can still exhibit signs of dehydration which is why you need Nuun Hydration Tablets. I’ve been using Nuun for as long as I can remember to keep myself healthy and hydrated. Their tablets come 10 to a tube and with only 1 gram of sugar and 10 calories. There are lots of delicious flavors (like Grape, Kiwi Strawberry, Blueberry Tangerine, Kona Cola-a fan fave) and so many more to choose from. While all Nuun products are designed to replenish important electrolytes, within the Nuun family there are tablets designed to give you a boost after a workout (Sport), help you stay healthy (Immunity or Vitamin), promote rest at the end of the day (Rest), or even super charge you with the addition of caffeine (Energy). My 17 year old loves the Lemon Lime to help him stay hydrated when hiking, backpacking, or skiing. I rely on the Sport line (Raspberry Lemonade is my fave!) to replenish electrolytes after a run or following an OrangeTheory workout. I also really love incorporating Immunity (love using Spiced Cider with hot water right now!) into what I consume daily to stay healthy during cold and flu season or to give my body a boost when I feel a cold coming on. Full disclosure- I’ve been a Nuun Ambassador for the past 5 years but have using their products for much longer. They are my hydration solution of choice over all the other brands!
GIVEAWAY: Turonic GM5 Massage Gun ($129)
Knots happen and you can roll them away or as my husband prefers, target the tight spots with a massage gun. Turonic’s GM5 Massage Gun is incredibly functional thanks to 7 heads for different muscle groups, a special anti-cellulite head, and 5 intensity modes. Unlike our previous massage gun, Turonic’s GM5 is incredibly quiet! It can be hard to get on board with a massage gun but we’ve been using this one since it arrived in our house and it’s also been reviewed by Forbes, New York Magazine, Wired, Runner’s World, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, and more.
Sure, it’s not cheap at $129, but it’s less than the cost of an hour on the massage table and totally worth it as a gift that won’t disappoint. Enter to win a GM5 Massage Gun, courtesy of Turonic below!

They come with a 1 year warranty and right now, the price can’t be beat for anyone in need of Bluetooth earbuds as part of their workout kit.
Stance Performance Tab Socks ($14.99/pair or $40 for 3 pairs)
I’m a creature of habit when it comes to my running gear and my family knows I’ll never run a race with something new. I have to road test it first! My teen son loves Stance Socks for everyday wear but I’ve recently become a fan of their Performance socks ($14.99/pair or $40 for 3 pairs). They’re made out of the softest cotton and are just the right thickness (meaning not to thick or think) to wear during my workouts. Unlike other socks, Stance Performance socks stay put- they don’t slip down in my shoes during long runs which I can’t say about all running socks on the market!
Asobu White Infinite Mug (usually $34.99, currently on sale for $30.89 from Amazon)
If you’re a car camping enthusiast looking for a new camp mug, you want the White Infinite Mug from Asobu. Unlike enamel or plastic mugs, the White Infinite Mug holds 16 ounces of hot chocolate or morning coffee and keeps your beverage hot even on the chilliest mornings and evenings. The cork base is a nice touch when in the great outdoors but at home, it means you don’t need a coaster underneath your mug.
Flip Seat from Step2 ($59.99)
While great for the side of the pool, this flip seat is the perfect college game day accessory for tailgating! It sits perfectly on top of a 5-gallon bucket or cooler, so great for games or camping trips! Comes in a variety of colors including white, pink, blue, brown, brown and orange and mint!
TESALATE BLANKET ($99)
While it may not be beach season, Tesalate Beach Blankets are versatile for all-season use because of the impressive fabric technology. Despite measuring 63” square, this super absorbent double-sided towel holds up to a liter of water yet dries in half the time of a regular beach towel. It’s also incredibly compact for its size and sand resistant – all thanks to Tesalate’s AbsorbLite™ fabric. We have two Tesalate beach blankets in our home that we’ve been using for years and love them! I know they make a great gift for anyone who love to spend time outside whether at the beach, picnicking on the grass, or at musical festivals.
Circular Ring Slim (preorder for $245, $275 after December 15, 2023)
If there’s one fitness gadget I’m excited to try in 2024, it’s the Circular Ring Slim. Brand new and almost ready to ship on December 15th, Circular Ring Slim is being hailed as the thinnest and lightest smart ring in the world and the first to incorporate haptic navigation and alerts into its product portfolio. Paired with Kira+, Circular’s powerful AI wellness assistant, the sleek Circular Ring Slim assesses 7 biometrics and 142 derived markers 24/7 to help people sleep better and live healthier lives. During the day, the ring captures activity, blood oxygen levels, energy levels, calories burned, heart rate, respiration rate, and chronotype, among other metrics, while at night, the ring ambiently tracks circadian rhythm and records sleep quality, heart rate variability, sleep disturbances, REM cycles, and sleep and wake times. Its sensors measure temperature variations during sleep, which, combined with other biometrics, can provide a clearer picture of immune systems and provide early detection of the onslaught of illness. While the original Circular Ring was created as an alternative to the excessively gadget-looking and bulky wearable current devices, the new Circular Ring Slim goes a step further, being the slimmest and lightest ring on the market. By optimizing physical activities and maintaining mental wellness it is making personalized, preventative health a reality.

I need the Asobu infinte white mug because there is nothing better than to enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate first thing in the morning while I sit and look at the lake but I hat it when my hot chocolate gets clod since I don’t drink it fast.

I’d like to try the Tesselate blanket/towel. We spend almost every summer weekend at the lake and something that’s both absorbent and quick-drying would be a game changer. Driving home with a trunk full of heavy, soggy, mold-smelling beach towels is something Id love to say goodbye to.
Miri says
One of our favorite things to do outside as a family is geocaching. It’s a fun hobby that you can do anywhere — we’ve found caches everywhere from local woods to behind one of the pots on the side of the Spanish steps in Rome. It gets everyone outside and it’s cooperative, not competitive.
Jaye Smith says
I’d love the Tesalate Beach Blankets, we go to the beach a lot and this would be perfect!
