Recently a friend asked me about tablets for her children. While you could get an iPad or a Motorola Xoom, chances are you want something a little less expensive and more child friendly and durable. I’m not saying that those options aren’t good for certain ages but with the plethora of features, constant internet access, and price tag, they might not be the best option for kids.
I’m excited to get my hands on the much-anticipated LeapFrog LeapPad Explorer which will be available on August 20. Early buzz from LeapFrog’s recent press event in New York City where they debut the LeapPad has been quite positive and made me disappointed that I had to miss it. Here’s a preview of the new LeapPad Explorer and if you’d like more information from a trusted mom tech blogger like myself, Heidi from Coast to Coast Mom, was able to attend the NYC press event and posted a review the LeapPad on her site.
The LeapPad is available for preorder from Amazon for $99. I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of my LeapPad sample and will be cracking open the box as soon as it arrives for Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer to put through rigorous testing to give you the lowdown on what could be one of the hot holiday toys of the year!
