It’s hard to turn down to an invitation from Mercedes especially when it is for 3 days of glamping in Montana. I’ve traveled a lot both internationally and around the United States but Montana is a place that I hadn’t visited until yesterday. Nor have I ever been glamping. Glamping? Yes, luxury camping!
But time with luxury vehicles in a gorgeous setting comes at a price called a 3 am wakeup call for a 6 am flight. The horrors! I know it’s a First World problem but I sucked it up and was thrilled to get to Missoula and to be greeted by this.
After an hour drive, we arrived at Paws Up. It looked even more beautiful than the photos I had been stalking online. Covering 60 square miles, Paws Up is protected Montana wilderness with gorgeous vistas in every direction as far as the eye can see.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch in a giant tent and were able to choose from a variety of activities- horseback riding, ATV tour, spa treatments, and even skeet shooting! While one might think I was hanging out at the spa, I was really busy shooting round clay pigeons which provided a different kind of therapy from a hot stone massage.

After a great afternoon, we met on the patio of Pomp Restaurant for a welcome cocktail reception with the following view. The rainbow was an especially nice touch!
After dinner, I bypassed a campfire and smores for a great night’s sleep in my luxury tent.

We just completed the press briefing on the Mercedes MClass ML350 and are heading out for a drive that will take us up to the Continental Divide, to a Ghost Town this afternoon, and back to Camp Mercedes for lunch and more activities. More posts to come!
