How to Reclaim Joy with One Stop Holiday Shopping at CVS Pharmacy

December 15, 2017 By Leticia

This post is sponsored by CVS Pharmacy

The holiday season is a busy and hectic time of year where everyone has mile-long to-do lists that are reviewed while waiting for parking spaces in over-crowded mall where patience is often lacking among fellow shoppers. As parents, take making happy holiday memories seriously because we hope our kids will look fondly back on their childhoods with joy. However, the joy of the season is easily lost when we’re running around and making ourselves crazy.

Easier said than done? You may think so but I disagree. Knowing how to simplify is key to finding joy at the holidays especially when we’re tired, busy, stressed, and even sick. Take a look at your to do list and ask yourself if you can omit a dish from your holiday meal, make gifting easier, say no to an invitation in favor of a quiet movie night at home, or if there’s a way you can simplify shopping by going to just one store.

Earlier this week I took a walk to my local CVS Pharmacy where I was impressed to find so many of the things I needed for my holiday in one place. CVS Pharmacy may not be a place that you think of for holiday shopping but with quality gifts, surprising stocking stuffers, and everyday essentials for your home and entertaining needs, it’s not necessary to run around to different stores and make the holiday more stressful than they are. This holiday season skip the headache that comes with trips to malls and busy department stores. CVS Pharmacy makes it easy to find exactly you need for the season in one convenient place. Here’s a look at the variety of unique finds you might be surprised to find when doing one stop holiday shopping at CVS Pharmacy.

12 Ways to Reclaim Joy with One Stop Holiday Shopping at CVS Pharmacy

Last Minute Gifts and Gift Wrap

Teacher gifts, hostess gifts, even gifts for your mail carrier and trash pickup crew can be easily obtained at CVS. The wide selection of gift cards makes it easy to find one to a favorite store for your child’s teacher and while you’re there, pick up a thoughtful card so you can cross teacher gift off your list. If a holiday party is part of your weekend plans, select a nice bottle of wine to take as a hostess gift. Staying with friends or relatives over the holidays? Pick up a nice gift basket of bath products for relaxing after the holidays are over.

Show your mail carrier and trash pickup crew that you appreciate their hard work throughout the year by getting a selection of snacks and drinks that they can easily grab during their route to refuel during the day. You can find rolls of wrapping paper and gift bags in the holiday aisle. Ribbon, tissue, pre-curled ribbon, and jewel toned gift boxes can be found by the greeting cards to make wrapping even easier. Gift giving couldn’t be easier thanks to one stop holiday shopping at CVS Pharmacy!

All the Trimmings for the Tree and More

CVS Pharmacy makes it easy to deck your halls! Ornaments, garlands, strands of lights to replace the ones that were working just a minute ago, and more can be found at CVS. You may even come home with a life-size Santa!

Stocking Stuffers for Everyone

Finding the right stocking stuffers and seeing faces light up is part of the joy of Christmas morning. CVS offers a wide variety of unique, affordable, and unexpected finds like tech gadgets, beauty and fragrance offerings, premium chocolates, fun toys, and more that will delight your loved ones.

Party Products to Help You Be the Hostess with the Mostess

Eliminate a trip to the party supply store and pick up festive plates, napkins, cups, and utensils for your holiday party. One stop holiday shopping at CVS Pharmacy will preserve your reputation as the hostess with the mostess!

Stamps for Snail Mail Holiday Cards

If holiday cards are on your to-do list but you’ve been dragging your heels getting them out because you don’t want to confront the lines at the post office, CVS can help! Books of first class postage stamps are sold at CVS registers and are the same price you’d pay at the post office. If you find yourself short on cards, there’s also a beautiful selections of boxed cards available from Hallmark, UNICEF, and Papyrus.

Photo Gifts for the Grandparents

There’s nothing that grandparents love more than gifts of their grandkids and CVS makes it almost effortless to give photo gifts that they’ll love. You can print photos right from your phone and send them to your local CVS Pharmacy for same day pickup using the Photo Center feature in the CVS Pharmacy mobile app. If you have a bit more time, you can create gorgeous photo gifts on the CVS Photo Website that ship for free!

Cookie Baking Supplies

Holiday bakers who love a good cookie swap or just enjoy making favorite recipes at the holidays can get flour, sugar, butter, spices, and more at CVS to eliminate a trip to the grocery store.

Makeup to Help You Get Your Glam On

Step up your everyday look for this year’s holiday parties and get glam with a new lipstick, sparkly nail polish, glittery eyeshadow, or Ardell lashes that are all the rage and readily available at CVS.

If you’re not sure what’s on trend, the latest InStyle magazine can be found in your neighborhood CVS store to help you know what colors and looks are hot this holiday.

Emergency Cold and Flu Relief

While you make your way through the aisles of your neighborhood CVS Pharmacy crossing off items from your shopping list as you go, you can also pick up items to keep your family healthy during cold and flu season. It’s a great time to go through your medicine cabinet to take stock of the items you have, check expiration dates, and throw away any expired over-the-counter medicines safely in favor of a new supply for the season. Here are my  3 Ways Parents Can Use CVS ExtraCare Rewards to Find Your Healthy During Cold and Flu Season.

CVS also helps you:

  • Save time with CVS Curbside pickup. Just open the CVS Pharmacy mobile app to shop for items you need, place your order, and swing by your local CVS and have your purchases delivered right to your car. There’s no need to get out of your car and traverse a snowy or icy parking lot in because your items will come right to you! For more information about how CVS Curbside Pickup works, read my post: Why CVS Curbside Pickup is a Busy Parents’ Lifesaver.
  • Stick to your budget thanks to their ExtraCare Rewards program. ExtraCare members receive exclusive benefits including earning 2% cash back in the form of Quarterly ExtraBucks, personalized savings offers, and app-only deals. Customers can use the CVS Pharmacy mobile app to manage their ExtraCare Card, view current deals/rewards, and send the ones you love directly to your card.
  • If you leave your wallet at home! It’s so incredibly inconvenient to go to pull your wallet out at the register only to find out that you’ve left it at home. Thankfully if you have the CVS Pharmacy App on your mobile phone and have connected a credit or debit card to CVS Pay, you can easily complete your transaction. Here are my 5 Reasons to Use CVS Pay and How to Set it Up in the CVS Pharmacy App with a how-to video.

In honor of simplifying, do one stop holiday shopping at CVS Pharmacy. Chances are you are part of the 76% of the U.S. population that lives within 5 miles of a CVS Pharmacy which means it’s never been easier to find what you need exactly when you need it.

I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy to help spread the word about #BetterHealthMadeEasy and how to #FindYourHealthy. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hos After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv

When we bought our house 24 years ago, it came wit When we bought our house 24 years ago, it came with many things we didn’t love like rotted porch boards, 1 bathroom, and peeling paint (inside and out!) but it also came with things we did love like old, mature trees, crazy shaped boxwood bushes, and these spectacular peonies! 🌸 Every year when they bloom I’m so glad that these beauties conveyed with the purchase of our house and I’m glad we rebuilt our porch so we can step out our front door to admire them in their glory! 🩷#peonies #peonyseason #garden #blooms #spring
As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the me As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the mental health challenges our youth face and am really pleased to share that over the weekend I became certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing! 🎉 I’ve always worked to build relationships with the young people in my life- whether my kids’ friends or students- and this certification has made me more mindful of the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges so I can have important and supportive conversations when symptoms first start to appear. 🗣️A big component of the training also included developing a self-care plan which is critical when supporting others. 💕 I’m so grateful to have taken this certification for free through the University of Maryland whose blended learning format (2 hours of self paced online work + 5 hour instructor led class over Zoom) was fantastic! 💻 The teacher in me really applauds the course design and I’m glad to join the 3 million+ in the U.S. certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. 🏥 If this is something you’re interested in doing, University of Maryland has free courses on Saturdays or Sundays from 10-4pm between June-October. Swipe ⬅️ for more information, including a QR code with more information and a survey to take as part of the sign up process. And if you have any questions- leave a comment or DM me. I’m happy to help you get certified too! ❤️ #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthfirstaid #youthmentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessmonth
