Time was always my biggest obstacle when it came to regular workouts. As a mom who runs her own business, my workouts fell by the wayside when I got busy. I sometimes find it hard to justify hour-long classes when I feel like I had so many other things to do.
With the Bowflex Max Trainer M8, I work as hard as I can on my own level for 14 minutes. I’ve found I get the cardio benefit of a much longer workout in just 14 minutes. I recently shared on my Instagram Stories how it was stacking up to my 60 minute HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts and found that if I did 60 minutes on the Max Trainer, I’d have a higher caloric burn! Check out my check out the Bowflex highlight in my Instagram Stories highlight for a side by side comparison!
Every time I step on my Max Trainer M8 to queue up a workout, Max knows what I need based on the 3 workout goals I selected when creating my profile. During my workout, I focused on the short bursts of effort followed by longer periods of rest that are designed for me to work out smarter, not harder.
Max serves as my personal coach who helps me reach my fitness goals. He (because he has a male voice that I haven’t quite figured out how to change to a female one!) speaks to me during my workouts, providing me with a motivational push just like a coach or personal trainer would.
He warns me (I still haven’t found a way to change the voice from male to female!) that my next sprint will be hard work, counts down in anticipation of cool down blocks, and tells me to take it easy and save some energy for the upcoming sprint.
Since I’m focused on my workout, I appreciate the verbal feedback from Max. I like the encouragement that helps me increase my performance and optimize training results. Max always knows how my workout is going based on Bowflex’s Athletic Intelligence® technology so there’s no cheating but lots of positive support to help you meet your goals.
Positive feedback during any workout keeps me going, keeps me coming back, and ensures that I never plateau during my training whether training for a race or not. Having someone, or even something as in the case of Max, encourage you during when things are tough is critical! Knowing you can get through the next tough block helps you achieve incremental success that leads to sticking with your workouts. After all, who doesn’t want to hear that they’re crushing their workout!
In addition to the verbal feedback, my Bowflex Max Trainer M8 also shows me the effectiveness of my workouts. Wearing a Bluetooth heart rate monitor on my arm, the Athletic Intelligence® app provides me with a summary of each workout on the tablet when I’m done.
To keep my training from getting too monotonous, I can listen to music from playlists found in the Bowflex machine’s Athletic Intelligence® app or use the tablet to multitask, streaming favorite content on Netflix.
Bowflex Max Trainer M8’s website promises me “Max results. Less Time. Compact design” and so far, it’s doing exactly what it promises. I love that I can always find 14 minutes during my day to complete a quick and effective Max Interval workout. Having the Max M8 in our home makes fitness accessible to every member of my family since it allows us to workout when we want at our current fitness levels.
